keep it simple, keep it fresh is a blog I found while looking for different gluten free foods/recipes/ideas. I have really appreciated the gluten free help and the reminders Lissa has offered. Last week she had a post on Christmas and has graciously allowed me to share it here for you. The following is a copy/paste of her post. Enjoy.

What’s Happened To Christmas?

Shopping and packages tied up with string.
Packed schedules and running and spending, “ca-ching.”
Consumed with glad tidings and what Santa will bring.
We give little time to the birth of our king.

We all feel so stressed and that time is short.
We’re stuck in our own worlds with long lists to sort.
It’s all hustle and bustle and one shopping spree.
Our focus, instead, should be on bending our knee.

I think of the angels that one silent night.
Proclaiming his birth and calming the shepherds fright.

He came just you.
He came just for me.
So what does it matter what’s under the tree.

His banner is peace.
He fills us with joy.
He came to the earth, the greatest gift,
for every girl and boy.

So that settles me down and helps me remember
the true meaning of Christmas.
The birth of my savior.
