So now that APOC is done I can play a bit on the computer. So I’m going to goback & catch up on some of the most recent activities around here.
Go back to the beginning of Feb. – on February 1st, we went to Eagle River to pick up some stuff for the APOC reports. Christine fell asleep in the car – wearing the tiara that I had to wear at the women’s conference I went to in mid-Jan (Friday night was a big red flower in my hair & Sat was the tiara….). I didn’t wear it so willingly and yet she wore it for almost 2 weeks non-stop! (I even took it off her head in bed a couple times – can you even imagine how bad her hair would curl & tangle around it!!)
One day (I can’t remember when, I think it was just last week) we were in Wal-Mart, I had gotten the kids a very rare treat of McD’s. CJ had a snack wrap & all of a sudden said “my tooth is gone”! Sure enough, it was stuck into the tortilla shell (gross!) – I did take pictures on my phone, but I have no clue how to get a picture from the phone to my computer, so I have a picture of after the fact at home. She is now missing the 4 front teeth, 1 has just started to come thru.
Then, when I thought I’d be working on the APOC reports last weekend… I bought a kitchen faucet & bathroom shower head – for breaks & a different kind of task from the APOC reports – but on Thurs night we came home to a horrendously loud noise, it was the boiler for the heat in mom & dad’s…..so we had a cool night & the next day started a fire in the woodstove.
I figured it would be fun for them & let them “campout” in the rec room and mentioned they could check the fire every couple hours. It was VERY weird for me to head to bed at 11, they had numerous snacks & obviously had no intention of going to bed soon. I told them I didn’t really care how long they stayed up as long as they weren’t crabby & were cooperative with hauling wood in the morning. They took it very seriously & stoked the fire every 2 hours – at 3 am it was 75* degrees in the house. They’d been dozing & taking turns getting up (way above & beyond what I’d expected of them). I told them they’d done a wonderful job & they should just let themselves fall asleep… they were up & at it by 8am – ready to haul wood to keep the fire going.
A repair guy did come, he didn’t do much & didn’t let me pay him, said he didn’t trust the “fix” to stay. The heater is on (too much) and the house isn’t overly warm – but I ordered the right part for our boiler (not just something available in the state) yesterday & it should be here tomorrow and dad comes home on Friday!
Guess what?
Tonight I did get my bathroom shower head fixed – no big deal. About a 5 min project, including removal of old one & clean up. It even worked – the water came out! The kitchen faucet directions however, said it was about a 60 min project, not including removing old faucet. Since I figured I didn’t have 60 min worth of attention span I decided to leave that for tomorrow’s project…
Oh the fun & detours of life, but enough updating for tonight, can you tell I figured out how to make pictures upload faster? Now I just need to figure out how to make them go where I actually want them, but not tonight – it is time for bed.
