This is a homeschool (or anyone who wants to learn) giveaway. Once again, I learned of it from the email newsletter sent to me by Home Educating Family Publishing. The following is the copy/paste of their site’s announcement of this giveaway.

Visual Latin Giveaway
Visual Latin Logo5 sets of Latin 1 (Lessons 1-30) in either DVD or download to 5 random entrants. Latin 1 includes a full year of Visual Latin with 4 intro lessons and 30 individual lessons. Each lesson consists of three videos: Grammar, Sentences, and Reading, as well as over 100 PDF worksheets.

Visual Latin was started by two homeschool dads. They assessed the reason why we as homeschool parents might want our children to learn Latin, and created the curriculum from there. Their goal is to help parents provide an environment of “expanding their children’s English vocabulary, or having a better handle on English grammar, or making it easier to learn Spanish, French and Italian.” One dad teaches Latin and the other is a Video Producer; these two dads wanted others to learn Latin in a non-boring, fun way.
These two dads designed this Latin curriculum around some basic concepts:

  • It’s better to make students laugh than yawn.
  • Shorter videos teach more effectively than longer ones.
  • Small successes lead to big successes.
  • Children like reading Latin more than memorizing it.

If you want to check it out they are offering six free lessons.
I am excited to enter this giveaway and will be checking this out regardless. 🙂
