Time for Five Minute Friday over at Lisa-Jo’s! Here are the rules – straight from Lisa-Jo, while she and many others wrote together at a conference:

1. Write for 5 minutes flat – no editing, no over thinking, no backtracking.
2. Link back here and invite others to join in.
3. And then absolutely, no ifs, ands or buts about it, you need to visit the person who linked up before you & encourage them in their comments. Seriously. That is, like, the rule. And the fun. And the heart of this community..

Oh and Ahem, if you would take pity and turn off comment verification, it would make leaving some love on your post that much easier for folks!

OK, are you ready? Won’t you please give me your best five minutes on:

Voice…

Go:: This week’s Five Minute Friday is VOICE. Interestingly enough, I’ve written about our words & our tongue this week. Our voice is what others hear – whether by sound or our fingertips.

I have been working on figuring out my voice. What does God want me to say? What words would He have me say? How should my children hear me? {Do they hear me?} I have been working to figure out my purpose of blogging. This 31 Days has shown me – I blog because I enjoy it. It’s like an electronic journal – but anyone can read it. For someone who has a problem with speaking up, who won’t post on facebook because I feel like it commands too much attention – why am I comfortable blogging? I can only figure it is the right use of my voice. For whoever it might benefit.

I have been reassured repeatedly thru Lisa-Jo this week that it is okay my voice is small, quieter, not in the front.

Why has this surprised me? It fits me. I hope and pray for confirmation from my Heavenly Father this is the place for ‘my‘ voice. I want others to hear me trusting. I want to remember others are hearing me speak with the voice He has given me. ::Stop

Honestly, I have to say I’m tired of talking about talking. It’s been a loaded week of evaluating the mouth…. I hope and pray this blog is a platform for using my voice to direct others to Him. I am nothing without Him. In Him I am a Child of God, saved by grace, a daughter of the Most High – and I don’t ever want to forget it! I have to admit, I’m seriously ready for some quiet — but there is a full weekend ahead. I will choose to enjoy it. I will choose to embrace the life we have. I will choose to pay attention to my voice, the words coming out of my mouth.
